september 13

yesterday we went to celebrate my father-in-law's birthday, which was really nice c: we went out for dinner and sat around talking for a while before i went to look for a micro sd card for my flip phone, so i can put some music on it. the electronics store was closed though, so i didn't find one. i'll have to wait until wednesday so my boyfriend can get one before he goes to work.



today is election day in sweden, so we went to see a tower apartment in a historic building here in town before voting. it was so beautiful and we decided to take it!c: so we'll be moving there in november, when it gets too cold at the cabin for the winter. the cabin we're living in now is very old and has almost no insulation, so it would probably get really cold during the winter. it gets around -15c here during the winter sooo.. :o

the tower apartment was built in 1906 and actually survived a fire that destroyed large parts of the town. we were really lucky to get it since it wasn't advertised publicly, but we heard about it through people we know. the apartment is rarely rented out, so it was really fun that we got the chance to take it.



we already have the key, so now we can start going around to thrift stores and looking for furniture for the apartment. we don't really have anywhere to store things at the cabin, so it's nice that we can start finding things for the new place already c:

after the viewing i went to vote for the first time in my life! it felt a little strange but also really cool to actually go and vote for the first time.

now i'm sitting here watching the swedish election and it's so close and really exciting to follow!! i'll probably be sitting here for a few more hours watching the results. the final result won't be completely clear for a few days, so it will be really interesting to see how everything turns out c:

september 11

today i finally got my new sim card! i took some pictures with my flip phone also, so i'll post them here for you. the quality sucks because it's literally the lowest quality, but that's kinda the point and i love it c:



i went shopping for some decorations like stickers and rhinestones but i couldn't find any shops here in this small town that sell things like that - unless i want stickers for children :p i've just decided to order online. otherwise i'll have to drive 40 min to the closest store to buy some :c i actually forgot to buy a microSD card also, so that sucks. i'm excited to download all my mp3 files and take more pics.

tomorrow we are going to celebrate my father-in-law's birthday at a restaurant, so i'm really looking forward to that. usually i love to dress up, but now that i'm not working, and really have nowhere to go except nature around the cabin, i don't really feel like there is any point in dressing up. i just wear my most comfortable clothes lately. i don't like that, but that's how it is right now lol. when we are going out to eat i feel like i at least have an excuse to dress up haha. but i'm excited to see them and to celebrate him!

other than that, i have been watching tv because there's a lot of election stuff going on right now. i feel like it's important to watch because sweden is fucked these last few years and it's really time to change something lmao. this will be the first time i have ever voted actually. i'm a swedish citizen, and that meant i could never vote in norway. kinda exciting to vote for the first time :p

my boyfriend is taking a nap right now, and i'll start making homemade pizza soon. it's raining a little bit now, so it's perfect weather for homemade pizza and a scented candle!

september 10

i was pretty tired today because i didn't really sleep last night. i could hear mice running around in the crawl space above us, and it kept waking me up. i guess that's something i'll have to get used to living in a cabin lol. at least they are not able to come in here tho, thank god.

actually, the last straw for me before moving from spain to sweden was that i saw two mice in the apartment. my boyfriend was working evenings so i was alone, and i just called a cab straight away and went to my mother. after that i cancelled the contract and moved here haha. there was other stuff also, but that pushed me over the edge to make a decision. so i'm happy as long as i don't see them and they have no way of getting in the actual cabin.

other than that, it was a pretty quiet day. i played some sims, did some cleaning, made some food and watched some tv. nothing very exciting, but it was nice to just take it easy. my boyfriend is working late today so im really just chilling and waiting for him.

tomorrow i'm going to get a sim card for my new nokia hmd 2660, so hopefully i'll finally be able to start using it properly. we are also going shopping for groceries for the week. i'm not used to shopping for more than a day or two at the time actually, so it's a nice change for me. i'm also learning to cook more since my boyfriend is the only one who is working:p i feel happy about learning more cooking, cleaning and stuff like that. it's good to evolve as a girl in that sense, since i have not been very good at that even tho i wanted to:p

it's been a really slow day today, and i haven't done much.

i watched the funeral for the king of norway, harald v, and it was really beautiful. everyone in norway has really loved the king. he has always been a great man who cares for his people and it really showed in the funeral. may he rest in peace.

on a lighter note, i also spent some time today working on my website. i added a new page and made some changes to the layout. it was fun to play around with it and see how it looks now.

i got woken up by the mailman today, which was great because i thought they wouldn't be able to find our cabin. this was the first thing i ever ordered here so its good to know they can find us in the woods. i'm very excited to get my simcard so i can start using it. i'm also planning to decorate it and i'm excited to see how that turns out.

i'll update you when i have everything fixed with my phone, and when i have tried to take some pics with it.

september 8

today i talked to my sister on facetime and spent pretty much the whole day working on my website.

i'm having so much fun playing around with it, even though it can be pretty frustrating when i can't figure something out. i have so many ideas for how i want it to look, so i just get impatient when i can't make things work the way i want. but i've really been enjoying having something creative to spend my time on again.

i've always been a pretty creative person, especially when i was younger, but i feel like that side of me kind of disappeared for a while. it's nice to have the time and space for it again and just make things because i feel like it.

moving to the cabin has also made me feel a lot more connected to nature. being surrounded by trees and having so much quiet around me has been really nice, and i think i needed that more than i realized.

my sister and i talked a lot about faith today too. since becoming christian, there are so many things we've both started thinking about differently, and it's nice being able to talk about all of it together. we can basically talk about anything and nothing for hours, which i really love.

i don't know exactly what the next months will look like, but i'm really happy with where i am right now. it feels good to have some time to slow down and enjoy the little things.

just some thoughts from today.
